Thanks for the photos SxN! Are those wooden Meeples or plastic? They seem quite smooth.

https://uupload.ir/files/jc4g_20150814_185327.jpg - numbering goes 0 to 49; that's how little I understand  :)

Arabian numbers in origin form. Nice

The photos were posted on an Iranian web site: http://boardgamepersian.mihanblog.com/. Seems like they have been taken down (links point to http://boardgamepersian.mihanblog.com/post/28, which is now returning a "404 Page not found" error). Unfortunately, I don't speak the language and have no clue what does it say there.

I found them by searching initially for "Kados", then using an alternative Latin transliteration "Kadous", which gave better results.

I was also curious about the Roodkhan castle (Ghaleh Roodkhan), but couldn't find anything related to the game. However, the real castle seems to be cool - google it, worth the time!

Pretty nice photos SxN, thanks for sharing!

I found the last version I posted on this webshop: http://www.bazijoo.com/1880P-ghalehroodkhan
It is around 35 dollars 2,000,000 Iranian Rial), but, unfortunately, nobody replied to my inquiries.

Your share, Carlium, is nice as well. On the back of the box there is an English text mentioning:

Ghaleroodkhan is one of the most famous castles in Iran which was built during the Sassanids Emperor.
In this game, players should expand the area around the castle and try to obtain the most possible points by assigning the followers on the roads, catsles, bazaars and prairies.

I would guess that the Parsi text above is the exact same.

Pricewise... on the right column, I see something that I think reads "2,025,000" and underneath "2,000,000". My guess: that's the price and the discount.

Hi all,

Looking for some Carcassonne content, I found a version apparently distributed only in Iran. In the same way that current version of Carcassonne sold in Arabic peninsula, they changed a little bit the name of some components (clusters and abbot). In this version the changes are not only restricted to names, the entire art (logo, box, tiles, even back of the tiles) is totally different.

Check this blog to see what I am talking about:
http://mrgamers.ir/1398/02/18/%DA%A9%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%88%D8%B3-%D9%BE%D8%B1%D9%81%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%B4-%D8%AA%D8%B1%DB%8C%D9%86-%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B2%DB%8C-%D8%B1%D9%88%D9%85%DB%8C%D8%B2%DB%8C/

When I saw it, I thought that it was (or is) a fan-made version, like Legend of Zelda or Super Mario Bros fan-editions. However, I found it was distributed and sold widely in plenty of websites, some of them dedicated to sell board games in Iran. That makes me think that it is not just a fan print and play.

I am pretty sure this edition is not related with HiG (no logo is found in any box) in any way (licensed, approved, or partnered); nevertheless, they, in some descriptions, mention HiG as the original publisher and  Klaus-Jürgen Wrede as designer.

I searched about this company, but their website is dead (https://web.archive.org/web/20140730194758/http://www.kadousgame.com:80/) and the Facebook profile is not active since 2014 (https://www.facebook.com/kadousgame). Its release was recent, for that maybe some copies are out there.

If someone knows something else about this project, I would be happy to read more about.

Best

hello every one ! this is Mohsen from Iran.
i'm a board game seller in Iran. recently some people from this forum asked me for sending 'Kadoos' and also 'Ghale roodkhan'.
unfortunately because of political reasons Iranian people are in hard sanctions from all over the world. so that's so difficult to send any product abroad from Iran. but after a hard research i found a safe way for shipping the product to the Europe and America.
the only matter is still transferring money. some of my friends from England and also France could transfer money by sending Bitcoin to me.
the price of 'Ghale roodkhan' is 35 EURO and 'Kadoos' is 25 EURO ( a worked one if i could find, because it had discontinued from 5 years ago )
after all i would really happy that i could help to all my friends who are Carcassone lovers from all over the world.

Welcome to the forum Mohsen.

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch.

I'm sure a lot of forum members will be in touch.  I hope the sanctions in place won't cause you any problems.

It's great hearing about Carcassonne / Kadoos fans  from all parts of the globe!

I'd really like to know more about Iranian boardgames. Which games or mechanisms are popular? Do people play with their families, or in larger groups?

nice to meet you Decar !
you know board games are very new for most of the people here. unfortunately Iranian people live in a bad economic because of the sanctions. so they couldn't spend many money or time for their hobbies. but i think games are a same language for all the people around the globe. hope it makes the people peace in any opinions with any religion.
abstract games are fewer popular to people in Iran but all the people like party games .
the most popular game in Iran is 'Splendor'.
there are also professional players for heavier games like all stonemaier games, 'through the ages' and etc.
also there are several groups that get together on holidays and play many games at bars or cafes.( difinetly before pandemic)
i will answer if there is any other questions.
:)
