Why do you all think its new art?
Because nobody likes it?

Quote from: whaleyland on April 25, 2016, 05:46:11 PMIntersting that this expansion was made for the original art but them moved to the new art. It definitely shows this expansion has been in the works for a while and that it was a conscious effort by Hans im Glück to make it the first promo expansion in new art. Kind of weird, though, and I have to question using Wikipedia for the sources. Is Wikipedia the source for the Japanese rules, too?Doris Mathäus didn't do the feature art, did she? That would be a weird amalgam if she did.Why do you all think its new art? The grass is so much different from the carc 2.0 version.

Still I think its better then nothing.
Just had a chance to play a 4 player game with these.Uhh... they are not really balanced at all for slightly large decks. The River + Traders and Builders + Inns and Cathedrals + The Maze + the original monasteries because why not? + a second pack of 8 city tiles I bought and this thing is just broken. If you never draw one, you simply cannot win when people are getting 25+ points per Japanese Temple on huge, congested boards on long streaks of tiles, due to the River. There's is absolutely no reason to take this as an Monastery. I can't think of any situation where you'd want to give up 25+ points for a potential 9 points, unless you were down to just your Phantom or something and didn't want to bog it down all game.
I had a game yesterday with 42 points for a monastery.
