Jcloister farm patterns
« on: October 24, 2014, 10:32:12 PM »
I was wondering how many distinct (in the SQL sense)  farm patterns patterns there are in JCloister.  I notice some adjacent but separate (in my  opinion) farms have the same pattern.  Is it just that the patterns have to be reused or do I not understand how the farm borders are determined.  Should the farms with the black red and blue circles have the same pattern

I just had a game against an AI opponent to test this for you but I forgot to turn farmer hints on and played the whole game without them.

So that was pointless.

I won though!  :)

I usually just have AI play AI and the game is over in 2 seconds and then I look at the results

Sometimes adjancent farms get same pattern. There is only limited set of patttern. And pattenrs are assigned by random.

Thanks for clearing this up,  I just was not sure if I was interpreting the rules properly.

A suggested workaround for this would be to allow a player to position the mouse over a farm and have a command to switch it to a different pattern.

Only a small suggestion as I am very pleased with the program and think you have done an excellent job with it.  :(y)
