I am pleased to announce that the CCDL will go on as promised, starting on Monday 3rd June and finishing on Saturday 17th August.
All rules will be as for the previous two tournaments and the divisions will be produced according to previous results and the amount of entrants.
Anyone who wants to play and is committed to playing all their matches in this timescale, please register your interest by commenting this thread with your first and second choices of expansion that you wish to play.
Anyone not registered by midnight GMT on 31st May will be too late, as I will be sorting out the leagues on Saturday 1st June and therefore need finalised numbers by then.
I look forward to getting at least 2 divisions up and running this time but, if you are not serious about your commitment to playing all matches without the need for being reminded, please do not enter.

I'll take The Count in Div 2, assuming TheSteveAllen is in Div 1?
-
Richard, I have not sorted out the divisions yet, but I am happy to change from the Count to something else. I only pick it because I know that nobody else will choose it (except you, to be awkward).

It is looking very much like the league will be run with 'The Usual Suspects' this time around. I am assuming that Rich_The_Fish will also be joining those who have already signed up, making 10 participants.
If this is the case, I have to decide on a league of 10 people or 2 leagues containing 5 each.
Do you guys have any thoughts on this please, by way of guidance for me?
I look forward to any comments and suggestions.

League of 10 = 10 * 9 / 2 = 45 games. 2 leagues of 5 = 5 x 4 / 2 = 20 games per league = 40 games. So there's not much in it in terms of games to be played.
I think it will be more successful for it to be played as a single all-in competition as there's more variety of opposition and expansions, and greater excitement towards the end with all the ifs, buts and maybes regarding who might finish where.
I promise to do my best to get my games played too!

Thanks for the input Dan, I am very much of the same opinion as yourself, but I thought that it would be best to run it past everyone before committing them to 9 matches each in 2 1/2 months.

One match per week each doesn't seem like too huge a commitment. If everyone is on board with that then it should be perfectly achievable. 8)
-
If it is one division I will drop out as I can't commit to a game a week on top of base game league due to daily hospital visits and holidays in August. I will watch with interest.

So if I run it over a longer period of time, this would help?
-
Probably not to be fair. I could manage a game every other week but not more.
-
Let's wait to see what the others say, but my idea of 4 seasonal competitions was based on leagues of 6. There is no other reason for sticking to a 3 month window.

Hello everyone, I have not played for a while but I want to take action.First I have to catch up with my computer and update the program. I would like to have a test game before to see that everything is going well before committing to play.

1-inns and cathedrals
2-traders & builders

Welcome back, Jacobo, just at the right moment. :(y)
Indeed, it's been a while since we last saw you here. If you need some practice, I'm available on Sunday evening after 9 pm, or tonight from 10 pm (CEST).
-
Welcome back Jacobo; looking forward to playing you again! :)

Ok guys, we appear to have 10 of us. Please leave a comment here if you want 2 leagues of 5 over 3 months or 1 league of 10 over 5 months.
Please answer as soon as possible to allow me to set up the leagues.
-
Steve, I'm fine with both. Let the others decide.

Likewise

Which ever

Ok. I hear where we are coming from. Tomorrow I will be setting up a league for 10 players, all with everyone’s first choices of expansions. I will wait for Halfling to confirm if he is playing or not before I confirm mine, however.
If you wish to go ahead and arrange fixtures, please do so. I will be posting the thread for the results tomorrow.
