Post by: kettlefish on October 01, 2015, 02:04:08 PM
The exhibition "modell-hobby-spiel (http://www.modell-hobby-spiel.de/de/)" in Leipizig, Germany from 02.-04.10.2015:

Some English information:
Quote
modell-hobby-spiel is the biggest consumer event for model building, model railways, creative arts, games and toys, for visitors from the five eastern states of Germany, for Bavaria and Hessen as well as for visitors from the Czech Republic and Poland.

It is taking place for the 20th time in 2015.

In 2014, 658 exhibitors from 10 countries presented a comprehensive industry overview and unveiled new products. Workshops and lots of offers to try out encourage people to get involved in all areas and demonstrate how nice it can be to have a hobby.

Since 2009, the "Graf Ludo" game graphics award has been presented at modell-hobby-spiel
I will go on Saturday to Leipzig.
But this year I don't  go to the "Graf Ludo" prize-giving ceremony.
The ceremony is this year on Friday in the same hall as the booth from HiG.

The nominees for the award has two cathegories - each cathegory has 2-3 nominees:
- best graphics in family games
- best graphics in children games
Graf Ludo - Nominees (http://www.grafludo.de/nominierungen/)

The graphic artists with the best graphic will get the award.

At the booth at HiG / Carcassonne-on-Tour with Udo Schmitz
- the new Spin-Off "Carcassonne-Über Stock und Stein"

Klaus-Jürgen Wrede will sign the games and also the autograph cards and his new book.

Some tournaments with Carcassonne take place.

The photo shows the booth from HiG - sorry for this small picture, but I've got only this small one from Udo.

Tomorrow I will write a small report about the exhibition in Leipzig and the meeting with the members, Udo and KJW.

Today the member Benny has posted some photos at CarcF:
modell-hobby-spiel - the booth (http://www.carcassonne-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=2724&start=90#p34460)

KJW at work - signing some cards, games tiles (http://www.carcassonne-forum.de/gallery/image.php?image_id=2362)

KJW, Udo and PresetM are playing a test game with a fan-expansion (German version from Jputt927's "By Order of the King") (http://www.carcassonne-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=2724&start=90#p34462)

I've played the new spin-off game "Carcassonne - Über Stock und Stein (http://www.hans-im-glueck.de/carcassonne/weitere-carcassonne-spiele/carcassonne-ueber-stock-und-stein/)".
I did the correction reading for the German rules. When I played the first time this game at the exhibition, I didn't need help. I was teaching the players how to play this spin-off game. This game is very nice - most important are the roads - the meeple can move forwards and backwards on the roads - with a long road you can receive many points.

I've meet KJW - he has signed some landscape tiles for the Carcassonne II Demo and some autograph cards for the fan community.
I gave to KJW and Udo the small gifts from quevy. They were happy to get them.

We had a small members meeting at the "modell-hobby-spiel" in Leipzig.
Benny, maik63de, Fan, PresetM and I met us. As always it is great to talk with the members.

The new game from HiG - "
Skyliners (http://www.hans-im-glueck.de/skyliners/)" - hmm what can I say ?
I didn't play this game but I saw how other people played that game.
It looks such unusual for HiG.

The new game from Schmidt Spiele - "
Cornwall (http://www.schmidtspiele.de/produkt-detail/product/cornwall-49318.html)".
PresetM, his friends and KJW played this game. I was following their game play.
There are tiles (each tile has 3 features) and has 3 different figures for each player and some money. The graphics are nice.

It seems like there was a lot of fun.
Sooner or later I hope to attend one of these events in Germany.
