A present to myself for the (small) raise that I received today.
Congratulations! Enjoy the game and share the strategies! ;)

It happened.

Look to the north. Keep looking. There's nothing coming from the south.

All my kidding aside, Christopher: what was your first thought when opening the box?

First thought opening, or first thoughts after perusing?

First thought opening was the same thought I always get - 'Good heavens, do new tiles smell amazing.'

Then came the score track, very nice. Flick through the tiles, I'm not a huge fan of the cloisters. Or the river, or cities. They look childish to me. Roads are nice though, and the 'scenery' is good.

Found my abbots, very exciting.

Final thoughts - the rules are incredibly patronising. 'Your first journey into Carcassonne,' 'well done on deploying your first follower,' 'huzzah!'

I am glad I got it, and for reasons other than just the abbots. It's nice, and some of the tiles are pleasing. They're colourful, which is nice, apart from the blue towers. That being said, I can't imagine playing a game with them. Perhaps I'm biased, but I prefer the old artwork. I'll play a few games and see what happens.

I've had my eye on Jaipur for a while, and I just saw it for less than €20 at Atlántica Juegos in Madrid. Since it costs 30% more than this in Switzerland (CHF30), I grabbed it!

Grabushka and I like it. Recommended. A bit better than Lost Cities in my opinion.

Holy c***.  This isn't the local store, but we happened to go into a comic book shop 50 miles west of us and saw this.  Apparently father's day will be swell.

Hopefully Paul isn't too angry at my wife for getting these.  I still need a bunch of stuff.
