The second game of the league has just been finished. The result is: Leven vs jungleboy 176:133
As usual, I made a video recording of the game, you can watch it .
Quite early in the game with a lucky draw I was able to trap jungleboy's big follower (jungleboy could have escaped with his next tile), which gave me a big advantage in the final phase. I had much luck with the tiles during the game, gained lots of points with inns, and I was able to get into jungleboy's cathedral city. Towards the end jungleboy took some risk by beginning to build another cathedral city but I could successfully make it incompletable. I could even prevent him from finishing a long road with inn, and I had quite a comfortable lead but then jungleboy managed to take the majority in the most valuable farm making the score close again. But with 15 tiles to go he had no more followers in his supply while I still had 4, and I could even join one of them into that farm with my last tile. Lucky start of the tournament for me.
I will be available for a game or two this evening after 20:30 CET. The same applies to the days from Monday to Friday next week.
I assume that would be after 3:30PM EST? For how long afterwards?
Let's say if we can finish the game until midnight (7:00 p.m. EST) then it's OK. At 8:30 p.m. (3:30 EST) I will play vs jungleboy, afterwards I'm ready to play another league match.

And if I'm not mistaken then this last game will decide who will finish 4th in group B. Currently I am standing there but either Yall or Quevy wins, the winner will overtake me. (And also Hounk will lose his current 5th place.)
Did Yall mean that he will definitely not be able to play his last two games? What if we can wait one more week? Maybe he will find some time this or next weekend.
It looks like a "mighty knight" from "Cities and Knights of Catan".
It is, indeed. We played with the Horse expansion, but there was no chess set around, so we decided to use the knights of Catan as a substitute for the two horses.
I'm just curious though, do you use that timer in your games as well?
Yes, in a megacarc game we usually use it, just to ensure that the game won't last for ages. Because some of us (including me) tend to think too much before placing a tile.
Well, Carcassonne is anyway full of bizarre landscape, cities bridging over cities, etc. Nevertheless I prefer the river floating together rather than splitting up. (Not that I played it that way yet, but I will do so, once I got "River I" from CundCo.)
Sorry for being so much off-topic now, but having plenty of river tiles (1x River I, 2x River II, 2 tiles from GQ11, + tiles of unofficial expansions) we usually build a river which flows right to the edge of the table. These long rivers can look really spectacular sometimes. And of course more natural than those ending in a "sink-hole".
May I make a suggestion concerning the point system? I think awarding 3 points for a win is not really necessary in a game where draws are so extremely rare. E.g. in the T&B league there hasn't been a single one so far (in 69 matches if I'm not mistaken.) In my opinion there is no need to encourage the players not to settle for a draw (which can happen quite often in football, and that was the reason for switching to the 3-point system in every football league a few decades ago), especially because this (i.e. settling for a draw) is almost impossible in a Carcassonne game. Moreover, I would say that a victory by 1 point (which happened 2 times in T&B league) is such a tiny difference when the total winning score is always above 100 pts that in my opinion it's a bit unfair to award the winner two points more for that than for a draw. In other words: by the current point system, if I win a game by 1 pt difference, and then lose the next one by a large difference, I'm still in better position in the rankings than an other player with two draws. Although in my opinion his performance is at least not worse than mine (moreover, probably better).
I think it was my most awful game in the league, I was largely unsuccessful in doing anything. With the final tile quevy even finished a big city with lots of trade goods, just to push me even deeper.
But just not deep enough! Rah, I should have beaten you by two points rather then by one!
It seems this is quevy's day: Quevy vs Leven 207:115 (!)
