In other news, I printed the Villagers PnP yesterday lunch time and when I came home from work my wife had already folded & cut them all out:

We'll report back before the KS closes  :(y)

The Man vs Meeple KS has just ended.

I've got a few extra slots for some of their promos,
but I'm not allowed to duplicate anything:

If you're interested in any of these let me know:

1.Brook City
3.Vikings Gone Wild
4. Monster Lands
5. Too Many Bones
6. Don't Mess with Cthulhu
8. Fairy Tile
0. Champions of Midgard
11. This War of Mine
12. Terraforming Mars
13. Whistle Stop
14. Energy Empire
15. Evolution
16.Robin Hood
18. Critical Mass
19. Dinosaur Island
21. Space Freaks
22. Train Heist
25. War of the Ring (cheaper on BGG)

Thanks Decar, I would be interested in the bold items above, especially Terraforming Mars. I can't get enough of that right now. Great in a group and great solo!

Nice work on the PnP, look forward to your report!
Franks

Wanna play Carc? Can we add just one more expansion?

Thanks franks!

It looks Terraforming Mars is just the 'snow algae' promo which is available on the BGG store for a lot less than Man vs Meeple is offering.

They're averaging around $8 a promo atm

I'll put you down for Champions and Midgard and Whistle stop if you're interested.

I've managed to completely miss the Terraforming Mars hype and I've heard some good things about whistle stop too!

Decar, thanks for the clarification! I do have Snow Algae but appreciate the other promo's.

Check out Terraforming Mars if you can, from what I've seen of the games you enjoy, I think this one would work for you! Keep in mind it is a card driven game, the board is very active but it is more of a card game than a board game, at least in it's core driving function. I believe it deserves the current hype!

I'm currently pledged on these money pits  ;D

I was in the first Mythic Battles Pantheon and am only going to top up on the 1.5 upgrade and two of the expansion boxes I missed on the first KS, Hera and Hephaistos

Mythic Battles: Pantheon 1.5
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/806316071/mythic-battles-pantheon-15/description

I'm a big fan of the Command and Colors game systems and own most all the iterations. I'm finding it hard to look past this KS. It is a costly one but am generally happy with the output from PSC. I'm sure the oversized neoprene map board and a load of minis is what drove the price for this one so high. It's is too bad the ships for both factions are the same sculpts but one could do a nice paint job to give them even more distinction. I might pull out last minute on this but am definitely interested.

Red Alert caught my eye as well, though initially I thought of a board game version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert, but I guess this is a C&C: Red Alert as well, but just Commands & Colors  8)

I'll likely go for the reverse strategy though and possibly jump in on the last minute.

Those were the days. It's been many years since I landed a Chinook full of Tanyas in anyone's base, and no that's not a strange euphemism.

It's sad faces from us after playing 'Villagers' at 2players.

I left a somewhat harsh review on Board Game Geek and the designer has contacted me to make sure we were playing it right, I think we were...but let's see:

The game is scored through 2 scoring rounds called Market Place Phases - through card manipulation we were both able to: 1) Delay the first Market Phase and 2) Reduce the Mid-game phase.  As a result the game ended very abruptly.  The tech trees are generally horizontal at 2 players.  This is because half the cards never partake in the game, meaning the ones you need may never come out.  So you spend the time spreading out rather than specialising.  It's a classic statistical issue, too many card types and only so many view-holes.  This is by no means terrible - but we both felt like another scoring phase would just balloon scores for the sake of it.

Player interaction is pretty low, that's not necessarily a bad thing (it is for us - we like nothing more than stuffing over each other's plans) - apparently some expansions helps this.

We found the game really easy to play, and pretty intuitive, but for us it lacked depth.  Our scores were close at the end, but we couldn't tell if that was through good choices of cards or because the game was playing us.  Even though 6 cards are drawn to draft from every round, we both struggled to have choices due to the sheer number of types of card.

It's been a fascinating analysis of the game - and hopefully you can tell it's not been easy.  I love the aesthetic and feel of the game, but this time I think the game will be judged by its cover, by a lot of people.

Currently, there are a LOT of drafting games on the market, and at 2players I'd rather be playing 7 Wonders or something with more impact.

It's great that the designer took the time to send me an email about the issues we hit at 2-players, I hope they're able to rectify some of them, or put me straight, or we were simply playing it wrong - Will keep you all posted!

Anyone looked at 'New Corp Order' has a couple of days left and looks interesting.  I'd probably wait for retail thanks to Shipping costs.

Word of warning to anyone that backed Unbroken, it's more expensive to add a second copy to your order, and postage is more than double the cost too.  So currently, you'd have been better off pledging twice.  They're looking to fix this...let's hope they get that sorted.

Slippery slope for me at the moment... I'm back on the Kickstarter Band Wagon... I blame Jungleboy for not being here to rationalize my purchases:

Currently glued to Trickerion - the last set of stretch goals are far out, probably because this is the 3rd printing of the game.  It's a lot heavier than my usual boardgame purchases but the worker placement mechanics seem quite dynamic because each location has a choice of 4 modifications and at 2p certain bonuses are blocked out each turn.  It's neat there are different types of workers too:

Me again - I know some of you love Lanterns, so might want to grab the promo from Greg's Stikfas animation campaign.

He carefully explains the rules to boardgames using stop-frame animation - they're wonderful to watch:
