Hi Folks,

My wife an I are planning to tag a few days in carcassonne onto the end of our camping holiday in France in the summer.

Does anyone have any recommendations for cheap accommodation (probably going to avoid the campsite), things to see/do, other tips etc?

I was never in Carcassonne, that means I can't help you directly.
Perhaps the GOOGLE can give you the information...

I was looking at real estate in Carcassonne the other day myself. Don't know why as I don't have any plans to move (yet).

A question for the OP - do you mean to stay in the walled city itself, or in the area?

Hi Folks,

thank you for your replies. Much appreciated. That booking.com website is very useful - i don't know how i haven't come across that before.

I was originally looking for something cheap and cheerful - i got suckered into getting something a bit more special for the wife though. Just booked a room with a private outdoor area with hot tub overlooking the walls over the old city. And while it wasn't as cheap as i would have liked - it's not ridiculous either considering it's location.

Great stuff. I'll post photos after we've been!
