Watchmen of Destiny Not much into card only games but this one present a lot of interaction between players and should be fun enough. The art looks really good and at 22USD with free shipping (USD/CAN/EU) it does look cheap.

Ding & Dent is a very good fortnightly podcast - in it they share their thoughts on 'Pack O Games 2' - http://www.dinganddentcast.com/archives/episode-14-pack-o-games-gordon-calleja

I try and catch this podcast frequently, they are very good at describing game play mechanics.

All looks quiet on the Kickstarten Front.

If anyone reading this feels they missed out on the Kingdom Builder kickstarter, it looks like they are doing late pledges.  You just have to drop them an email.

I'm waiting for the new edition of Colosseum to appear on KS on Tuesday to see if it's worth backing.

Two Roman-themed games that are on my 'to buy' list are having new editions published through Kickstarter this year, though neither campaign has begun yet.

The second is Colosseum. The original 2007 edition looks like it has quite cool artwork to begin with, so some people on BGG are questioning the point of making a new edition. And the KS campaign has already been delayed, so we'll have to wait and see what happens here.

Colosseum's Kickstarter campaign is live and was funded ($30,000) in less than two hours.

Scuttle, a fun-looking pirate-themed card game for just $9 (+ $10 worldwide shipping), or $14 with an expansion:

Scuttle looks fun, but I was put off by the age rating - then I remembered CArcassonne is for 7+.

I'm following Kharnage, I'm not sure the gameplay video grabbed me, it just seemed to be a card-smash fest.

Santorini was started today. Simple abstract game with a mythical theme wrapped over the top.  Looks a little steep for my European postage, but that pedestal is something else

I had been watching and waiting for this one as well. These are local lads that live here in Calgary. I've have met them at a local game-cons where they are very personable and active. Roxley has put together other good games, Steampunk Rally and Super Motherload that have very good ratings and production.

I'm a big fan of abstracts so look forward to this one. I don't think this one will disappoint anyone. I do know how it feels to be on the wrong side of international shipping costs, ouch!

Wanna play Carc? Can we add just one more expansion?

I just saw SANTORINI and I'm baffled. At 96CAD (+/-64EUR) it is a lot but it looks really, really, really, really nice.
I now have 29days to find a good reason not to back it.

Well if 64 Euros wasn't going to stop you nothing will   ;D

I'm not sure I actually like the buildings - I love abstract games and I wonder if they laid the theme just a little too thick.  I have a feeling I'd prefer to just have blocks of wood.  It's one of those games like Connect-4 too; does the first player win - but it takes 100 years for someone to prove it?

I know this is going to sound silly, but all of the structures and domes being the same color is a big turn off.  Thematically building taller structures seems cooler than getting a builder to the third floor.  Then again there are a lot of building games like that already and this is different. The strategy looks varied based on your God's special ability, so that is a big plus and will increase the playtime.

I am going to hold off on this one.  I work on the 3rd floor of a building, so I win every weekday already  8)

It's hard to tell what the final production will look like - the ones in videos are pre-production 3d-printed towers.  I can see people painting/pimping them - but I don't have the skills.

All of the god cards are on BGG, so perhaps I can play it with some meeple and some up turned tiles - anyone fancy doing this at the meetup?
